Second Chance Aid (SCA) was formed by Mrs. Yen Pham, Von Tran, Cam Tu Vo, Kimberly Hong Ta, and Diem Nguyen. The five women shared the mission of helping the unfortunate children and abandoned elderly in Vietnam.

They started doing annual fundraising event and collecting donations from friends and businesses, assist with various projects for orphans and the senior citizens of rural Vietnam. Mrs. Yen Pham requested self-expensed paid mission trips for all board members and volunteers to ensure that 100% of the fund is reserved for the people SCA want to help.

Since then, the organization sent regular monetary support to a few orphanages to supplement funds for food and education expenses. SCA’s goal is to send these orphans to school so they can get an education. We also established schools and hired our own teachers to teach children in the mountainous regions.  Many of these children either do not have access to the establishments or it is so far away that it is not safe for the children to travel on foot. Other than education and senior citizens, we also focus on personal health. One of those focus is to ensure villagers have access to clean water by digging water wells in underserved villages.

Since 2018, we have elected new board members, Mrs. Yen Pham is still our current President, we also have Dr. Nhat Anh Ho– an optometrist, Dr. Thao Nguyen- PharmD, Mrs. Kim Anh Nguyen, and Mrs. Anna Le. Our missions are expanded to serve the local nursing homes in Atlanta suburbs, allocate funding for education for students in Vietnam, collaborate with other nonprofit organization to deliver medical cares for the sick and the poor, continue our original mission in helping poor children and elderly.
